Bridlington Business in Bloom 2018

The Bridlington Town Council are very happy to announce this year's winners of the Business in Bloom Competion. The Bridlington in Bloom judging panel found it hard to select the winners as the standard of entries was so very impressive. The competion was very close and the quality of all entries was impressive. The Town Council judging panel comprised of Councillors' Terry Dixon, Shelagh Finlay, JAckie Foster, Mike Heslop-Mullens, Glenn Holmes & Cyril Marsburg.

The Town Council would like to officially thank all who entered this years' competition and to congratulate you on your fantastic blooms in Bridlington in 2018. The Mayor of Bridlington, Councillor Colin Croft, said that he was very impressed with the flowers and the entries of this year's competition which have definately helped make the Town look amazing and contribute in making Bridlington a wonderful place to live.

 

Previous winners for 2017 were:

1st Place – Marshall Lodge Guest House

2nd Place – Bridlington Conservative Club

3rd Place – Belmont Guest House

 Fantastic displays this year and more entries than any year since the start of the competition in 2012.  Once again the Bridlington in Bloom judging panel found hard to select the winners as the standard of entries was so very impressive.  The competition was very close and all entries scored very highly indeed it was hard to separate them. The Town Council judging panel comprised of Councillors Terry Dixon, Shelagh Finlay, Jackie Foster, Glenn Holmes Cyril Marsburg. 

The Town Council would like to officially thank all who entered this year’s competition and to congratulate you on your fantastic blooms in Bridlington in 2017.  The Mayor of Bridlington, Councillor Cyril Marsburg, said that he was very proud of Bridlington and the flowers and entries to this year’s competition have really helped make this town look amazing and contribute in making Bridlington a wonderful place to live.  The winners being presented their awards at the Full Council meeting on Wednesday 20th September 2017.

Bridlington in Bloom winners with the Councillors at the September Full Council meeting Presentations

Bridlington Town Council is happy to have presented this year's Bridlington Business in Bloom competition at the full council meeting in September, which is the annual competition to reward a business in Bridlington that shows exceptional dedication to display floral enhancements to their business premises.

First Place 2016 winners are Marshall Lodge Guest House and Angela and Ian Thompson.  Second Place was Alexandra Complex and E Halliday attended to pick up the prize.  Third place was Grantlea Guest House and Mr and Mrs Odey attended to pick up their prize.

By running this award, the Town Council hopes that it encourages the businesses in the town to make their premises look lovely, which will have a positive knock-on effect for visitors to the town.

Marshall Lodge were awarded with an engraved cup and a Bridlington Town Council plaque. The plaque will be retained as a memento of their success and the cup will be returned to be presented to the winner of the next year's competition.
