The Mayor and the Councillors of Bridlington Town Council would like to say a huge THANK YOU to absolutely everybody who participated, attended and helped in any way at the numerous Centenary Events in Bridlington for Remembrance Sunday.  The day commenced with the moving “Battles O’er” lament at 6am by the lone piper, Dave Leeman.  The main event and parade was very poignant with all-inclusiveness of churches and witnessed by a fabulous amount of people at the Bridlington War Memorial gardens.  The conclusion of the day was a lovely Service and roll call of the fallen of Bridlington at the Priory Church. Just before 7pm the doors of the Priory were opened revealing the WWI beacon which was lit at 7pm, followed by the bells ringing out for peace at 7.05pm.  The Bridlington Town Council were completely humbled and thrilled with all elements of what was a very emotional and nostalgic day.
